An exciting opportunity for a paid grower to join our team as we enter our second growing season.
At Wellington Community Food we grow vegetables on 2.5 acres within a 12 acre field in the heart of Wellington, Somerset. In our first year 2023 we produced 18 veg boxes a week, in 2024 we plan to increase to 60 veg boxes a week using organic principles.
Located in the heart of our community of 16,000 people and part of a 63 acre Green Corridor that borders the town means that education and volunteering are an important part of our growing activity supporting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our community.
We are looking for a grower to work with our existing team of volunteers to lead on our cropping and develop the infrastructure and growing areas, host community groups and school visits and promote nature rich habitats across our farm.
Initially this is a seasonal position for February to end of October 2024
Hours 30 p/w – Job shares and Part Time applicants welcome to work on an employed or self employed basis. Pay based on experience.
